Arthur, Geoffrey and Andy first walked the 177 miles of Offa's Dyke - which straddles the border between England and Wales - 20 years ago when they were studying law together at university.
Come hell, high water, hypertension or varicose veins, they vowed to repeat the walk 20 years later... but this time the motley creww are joined by a stranger - a 40-year-old wife and mother on the verge of a mid-life crisis who throws a spanner in the works.
Rain, rows and resentments threaten the group as they set off on the biggest adventure of their lives.
Along the way they stumble across nubile Swedish nymphets, a dead body, a battalion of squaddies, a pub full of Clint Eastwood look-a-likes... and a mystery man.
And as the miles pass in a haze of pouring rain, screaming rows, hilarious encounters and dodgy B&B's, our intrepid travellers discover hidden depths, long buried antagonism and secret passions... and an unlikely friendship.
