The Complete Series 3 (1957)
Richard Greene stars as television's most famous Robin Hood in what can be cited as ITV's first hit series in the very early days of British commercial television back in 1955. The worldwide success of "The Adventures of Robin Hood" gave rise to a whole strand of swash-buckling heroes including "Sir Lancelot" and "The Buccaneers" but it was this series, which ran to 143 episodes and is still shown around the globe, which set the tone and is still highly regarded almost 50 years on.
